8 Months: A Handful of Dust

8 months to go, and I just got a TON of colorful powder in the mail- acid dyes for my dress and bridesmaid dresses, and luster dusts, petal dusts, and disco dusts for my yet-to-be-started gum paste flower project.

Fabric dyes are a lot less fun to look at than these cute little petal dusts. Petal dusts, like paints- are just the colors they are. No false advertising.

Most dyes, regardless of their final intended color, always look drab and gross, like the dust behind your stove or some dirt you tracked in from outside. But once they touch water- it’s magic.
